We have two different gel materials available: Synthetic and Structured.
Here is a brief description for each gel:
The Synthetic Pack
The more cost-effective of the two packs that we make, it can be used to reliably transport most items. However,
if the items that are being shipped are sensitive to possible contamination (a gel packs gets punctured and leaks),
the Structured gel pack is the recommended pack for your shipping needs.
The Structured Pack
Also known as "One-Piece," these gel packs are particularly suited for the shipment and storage of pharmaceutical products, as the
gel is comprised of materials that are thickened and "cross-linked" to form a mass that cannot be ruptured. This means that if there is an
accidental puncture in the film that wraps around the gel, the gel will not leak out and damage or destroy the product it is cooling.
Critical specimens, serums, and other pharmaceutical and biotech materials are often shipped with this form of gel to ensure that they get to
their destination at the correct temperature and without the risk of leakage.
*When ordering our "one-piece" (or structured) gel pack, please
just add a "S" to the end of the model number. Ex: WPCP12S |
